Money's not the issue at the moment, it's time (Dreamhost have said
"July 21st", without of course specifying a timezone) and recalcitrant
hosting providers (despite jumping through all the documented and
additional undocumented requirements, the reverse DNS set up is still
"under review"). Most of the infrastructure is in place and configured,
we're just waiting on that final piece to be able to send email so that
I can then test the configuration then release the floodgates.
As a consequence, the list *may* go dark for a few days while we wait
for the VPS provider. If the provider don't come back with the goods in
a reasonable amount of time, and the time offline proves to be
excessive, I can fall back to a different VPS as an interim while this
gets sorted out (one which has all the external blockers already
configured), but it will require software setup from scratch.
I am aiming for zero message loss, so I may pull the MX records to
ensure that email is undeliverable and bounces, rather than disappear
into a void. It may take a day or two to bring the archive back online
as a result (we have a recent backup, but I will have to apply the
intervening messages manually).
TL;DR - ducks look calm above the surface, but are paddling furiously
underneath, despite the current.

Just letting you know some of the changes that are happening
behind the
curtains. Corporations being corporations, they're making things more
difficult than necessary, so the initial plan to move just the mailing
list has had the additional task of having to move the website hosting
earlier than expected. Given the tight timelines, I can't do the wiki
at this stage, so I've set up a workaround. If you experience any
*persistent* issues with wiki access, or the main web site itself,
drop me a line at the above email address, with sufficient detail
(including timestamp of the event, plus your local timezone) - I have
one or two operators standing by to take your call. Note that my
timezone is ACST (Australian Central), so I may not be awake when you
are, or vice versa.
