I just uploaded new m2e build 1.1.0.20120130-2016 to the official 1.1
milestone repository [1]. This build contains a handful of critical
bugfixes and a number of new features.
Of note is the new 'convert to maven project' infrastructure contributed
by Fred Bricon from RedHat [2].
Another notable change is the new consolidated Update Maven Project
dialog that lets you update project dependencies, configuration and run
clean build with a single UI interaction.

Please try this new build and report any problems you find either here
or through m2e bugzilla.
