Hi Vijay,
another thing you should keep in mind is to always use Sun/Oracle JDK
for any Java development, not Open JDK distributed with Ubuntu.
You'll save yourself from all sorts of "interesting" problems...

Maybe in your download page you can add a warning for any ubuntu
sourced installs.

More than likely, the version you installed doesn't have the correct
update sites pre-configured. The distributions from Ubuntu are always
slightly different than what you get at eclipse.org
