Hi, while we make no commitment to keep m2e backward compatible with previous Eclipse versions, we generally try to make it work with at least one previous Eclipse release.
Since m2e 1.8.2 (released along the Eclipse Oxygen.1 stream), we're depending on internal APIs in JDT to provide minimal Java 9 support. Understandably, some of those internal APIs changed between Eclipse Photon M4 and M5, consequently, starting with the upcoming m2e 1.9.0 M5 release, only Eclipse Photon will be compatible. The last (unsupported) CI build of m2e 1.9.0 compatible with Eclipse Oxygen till Photon M4 can be found under[1]. Newer builds compatible with upcoming Photon M5 will be available later today. Thanks, Fred [1] https://ci.eclipse.org/m2e/job/m2e-master/238/artifact/org.eclipse.m2e.site/target/repository/ -- "Have you tried turning it off and on again" - The IT Crowd And if that fails, then http://goo.gl/tnBgH5
