I'm not sure if this information is usefull or not, but I can set and watch the picture of the webcam in Plextools/WindowsXP in this modes:
Compressionmode: I420 Resolution.....: 640x480, 352,288, 320x240, 176x144, 160x120 Framerate......: 30.0 fps or: Compressionmode: YUY2 Resolution.....: 1280x1024, 640x480, 352,288, 320x240, 176x144, 160x120 Framerate......: 30.0 fps @ 160-640, 15.0fps @ 1280x1024
