Today I booted an ubuntu jaunty kernel on my Acer laptop and the webcam "just worked" using the gspca_m5602 driver.
From my point of view this largely fulfils the intent of the bounty on http://www.liddicott.com/~sam/?p=76 even though it may not have met all the specific requirements. Would those who have contributed largely to this success and who thus have a claim on the bounty, please email me privately. I know some/all of you are and I expect your email, but I don't want to miss anyone out, so please also tell me of others who you also think have a legitimate claim. I'll give it a couple of weeks and then I expect to declare the bounty closed, and hope that those who also offered to contribute will agree to do the same. Anyone who wants to disagree and claim that the terms aren't met and that to close the bounty now would be unfair, please also email me privately.
