Please send your questions to the m5sim-users list, not directly to me.

The configuration scripts in configs/fullsys generate checkpoints by default. I don't know of any specific documentation on this though... anyone else out there have a pointer? We should probably write something up if we haven't already.

Thanks for your response. Because I'm new of using m5, I'm not familiar with dumping and loading checkpoint. Can you tell me how to do this? It will be appreciated.

Thanks again.

Subject: Re: [m5sim-users] Memory configuration for FullCPU

FullCPU does simulate slowly because it's modeling a lot of detail. It could take an hour to boot depending on how fast your system is. That's unrelated to the memory model you're using. We generally use SimpleCPU to boot and dump a checkpoint, then start from the checkpoint and warm up more with SimpleCPU, then switch to FullCPU for statistics.

Dear All,

I was trying to run the FullCPU model (m5), but I couldn't find a proper memory model for the FullCPU. I tried the Stantard model, the STX and the HTX model. The first one didn't work at all, while the last two models take a very long time for the terminal to boot. In fact, I haven't load the shell of FullCPU successfully yet. Does anybody know what type of memory I should choose for FullCPU?

Thanks a lot.
