Thanks for your interest.  It's hard to say how much effort we've put 
in, since we haven't tracked that carefully.  There have been 8-10 
different people working on m5 over the years.  I would guess that the 
initial release (the beta release in Fall 2003) involved about 10-12 
person-years of effort (4-5 people over 2-3 years).  Since then we've 
had 5-6 people working more or less continuously (on research, not 
always directly on m5, though often those overlap for us... so it's hard 
to say how many hrs/day are spent on m5 itself).  This is all off the 
top of my head; if someone else (Nate?) thinks they can provide a better 
estimate, please do so.

We will be posting the slides from the presentation in Boston shortly.
