Milan,

1. Does M5 simulator support the speculative
execution?

I believe there are low level primitives for speculative execution that we use for things like Branch mispredicts, but I don't believe there's a higher level framework for using it in TLS, and I don't know how much work woudl be involved in creating hardware support for TLS.

Thus, since we have no TLS support there are no compilers that will convert sequential code to TLS code that will run on M5.

Lisa

2. If it supported the Thread-level Speculation, which
part of code is devoted to this support?
3. What kind of compiler is used to produce the
threads for speculative execution from sequential
binaries?

I am looking forward to hear you at your earliest
convenience.

Thank you very much for your help and your time.

Kind regards,

Milan Radulovic
