The documentation refers to v2.0, which is very different in some of
these details.
For 1.1, it looks like it's set in Config.py, or you can override it
with the SYSTEMDIR environment variable.
Here's how I found it:
% cd configs/fullsys
% grep dist *.py
Config.py:env.setdefault('SYSTEMDIR', '/n/poolfs/z/dist/m5/system')
