Hello everyone,

Because the compatibility problem between M5 2.0b2 and g++4.1, I
uninstalled gcc4.1 and installed gcc4.0.

After the installation of gcc4.0, scons complains like below:

o build/ALPHA_FS/base/annotate.do -c -pipe -fno-strict-aliasing -Wall
-Wno-sign-compare -Werror -Wundef -ggdb3 -O0 -DTHE_ISA=ALPHA_ISA -DDEBUG
-DTRACING_ON=1 -Iext/dnet -I/usr/include/python2.4 -Ibuild/libelf/include
-Ibuild/ALPHA_FS build/ALPHA_FS/base/annotate.cc
sh: o: command not found
......

I have added the path variable and I can use scons to complie helloworld.c.
My system is fedora core 5. I thought it may because fedora core deleted
some gcc4.1 depentent files and changed some system settings that M5's
compilation needs. Is that ture?

BTW: If I want to use a different version of gcc, can I just remove the
/usr/bin/gcc and make a symbolic link to use gcc4.0 instead of uninstalling
the whole gcc4.1. Like this:
mv /usr/bin/g++ /usr/bin/g++41
ln -s /home/yx/Program/gcc-4.0.3/bin/g++ /usr/bin/g++

Thanks in advance.
Ying Xiong
