Get a copy of the original for the website and do:
diff -ur path/to/original/m5-2.0b4/src path/to/your/changes/m5-2.0b4/src
Please send nate a link and don't post the diff to the list, it may be
quite large.

Are you *absolutely* sure that this is the only stats change that
you have made? The error message would normally print out the name
of the stat that has the error. I must say that the stats code has
existed largely unchanged for a couple of years, is used heavily,
and doesn't have any known bugs of this sort.
Can you diff your tree against a real b4 tree and send me a link to
the diff?

Yes I checked that again. The value evaluates to 1k. And as I
mentioned before, its working fine in beta 3.

Are you sure that the value that is passed into .init is
reasonable? If it is too large, the allocation will fail and
things will break.
I suggest that you add some print statements or go into the
debugger in
VectorBase::doInit
