Hi jockie,
I believe you are following instructions given in the
following link:
http://www.m5sim.org/wiki/index.php/Defining_CPU_Models
3 things are different:
1)In section "Making M5 Recognize MyCPU" and in first
bullet, you have to comment these lines:
"if need_simple_base:
Source('base.cc')"
2) In point number 5, you have to place .py file for
your cpu in that directory not in
m5/src/python/objects/, since there is no such
directory.
3) So, last step "before building your cpu" is not
required.
step number 1 is needed, since you will anyway build
basesimplecpu while compiling other cpus, you dont
need it for your cpu separately. (Otherwise you will
get double declaration error).
Real problem is however something different, beta 4
seems not to be working with more than 1 timing simple
cpu and caches present. Even if i restore it from
checkpoint, it gets successfully restored but then
while running program, it gives core dump.
