having just joined ma-network largely on strength of
lophozia's good words about it, it's surprising
to walk right into a message from him suggesting he'll
quit the group. i haven't seen bill wilson's post
but it would seem forgiveable to "express emotion"
on behalf of victims of the air india bombing, and there's a
certain familial charm to doing so by withdrawing
admiration from an artist otherwise admired,
which is almost an inevitability at times.
One of the writers/bookmakers etc I most have
admired over the years - nicky drumbolis/arthur cravan
has published thousands of works nearly always
by mostly pre-ordained list - ie free - and usually
with a momentary yet deep sense of ceremony,
ranging from the subtle handoff to the toss through
screenless window; once when he'd seriously annoyed me
i told him his distribution system was "coy"
He was definitely mad and I felt better.
But exchanges did carry on.
Visual poetry's probably had more images
of exploding aircraft than the movies
but it's still powerfully resented when it happens.
Everyone knows that humour exists to sustain the
nervous system against becoming seething bundles
of rage at history, familial and workplace/social scene.

Quote from Now Magazine: "The EPO (European Patent Office)
dismissed the U.S. Agriculture Department's (USDA) and
U.S. based multinational W.R.Grace's appeal to extend
into Europe its patent on and ownership of certain uses
of India's sacred neem tree, a legendary evergreen
revered as the 'village pharmacy,' referring to such pattenting
as 'an act of bio-piracy.' " (March 17-23 issue)
