Hello Wladyslaw "yes, Warsaw and all Polish cities changed a lot, and we hope that everything will go to the better, but we (artists) feel that the iron curtine still exists - I feel that the art circulation is mostly related to the West Europe and USA production. In my opinion isolation of the new EU countries still exists, we have quite inner developing so far, that Warsaw is maybe suprise for you. Sorry for this opinions."
Never sorry for your opinion, they may be heard. And I must say that I have to admit what you have said. We here in the west know "famous" contemporary artists from Spain, Italy, France, Britain, ... But where is news anout Hasior, Beksinski, Szajna, Kantor, Wyspianski, Witkacy, ... and so many others. By the way Hasior and Witkacy are my favourite artists. With the transition from Comunist country towards a Western democracy, many Polish Mail-artists have dissapeard from the Mail-Art Network. The world went open and there were other things to do then writing letters. Travelling for example. I had so many contacts in Poland. At my Archive I have art from 76 correspondents from Poland.
