> We make hundreds or thousands of more or less
irrational choices every day, based on what else if
not favour? Without constantly being able to favour
one out of many alternatives life is extremly
confusing, or impossible, to live.

Yes. This seems right. I prefer to think that choosing
to FAVOR one choice over an other, in the moment,
results in conscious choice rather than unthinking
choice that arises from a predetermined, pre selected
favorite. I like to try to keep myself awake and
making my own choices appropriate to the context when
doing art and life.
When I am doing something less important, I care less.
Regardless I avoid automatic responses and preselected
choices as much as possible. I feel that it is my
responsibility to live a full and creative life. I
have to use all the many skills I have gained to stay
aware of the subtly shifting contexts in which we
understand our lives and move them along toward death.
At death I hope to have examined by art and science
all the ins and outs of my personal existence. While
this is boring to others it seems to me better than
being the automaton of the media and marketing
industry. I prefer to live apart from the current
product lines and color themes of popular fashion.
These choices and acts require me to be alert and
willing to sever social and other contacts when I see
that the origins are in popular culture. I realize
that most people who are "ARTISTS" have little contact
with conscious choice and don't believe in it or
recognize it. This is very easy to spot as is a rack
of Halmark cards. They have little possibility of
personal development or of living a conscious life. It
is OK for them. For me, I choose to choose every time.
