Hi LaVona,

> Yep, Now 2 antibiotics. All is better. Thanks

  So what happened?????

My life has been interesting. Seems my mother is getting forgetful.
So we planned a trip out to see her. The day before we left her
girlfriend called to warn us that she is getting pretty bad and we
should be prepared. Yikes! But when we were there she wasn't too bad.
But yes, forgetful and stressing. So it began the trips to the
doctors to see what is going on. She was diagnosed with mild
dementia. It's kinda worrisome as she lives alone when she is not
with her girlfriend. She drinks and smokes. She falls asleep with lit
cigarettes. The docs told her to quit drinking. This will be a
challenge for her big time. We started thinking of trying to line her
up with a live in aid but her girlfriend stepped in a took her off to
France for a couple of months. This is what they have been doing
since the 80's. Trips back and forth from NYC to Switzerland, then
France and then up to Canada. Basically she is hardly ever in NYC. I
wondered why she never sold her apartment. So in July I'll head back
and check in on her again. This is a sad and scary time in my life.
What to do about mom.....

The while we were there an old friend called my mom to tell her
that her mom had died and she really wanted to talk to me. She and I
had a falling out about two years ago and I'd pretty much written her
out of my life. But I braved it and called her. She begged me to come
to Chicago for her mom's service. I said I'd think about it. She
promised me that the evil person she had been had disappeared and she
even asked her girlfriend to marry her. Please come. So after a quick
week at home off we went to Chicago. It was good to see her again.
All the silly crazy times we had as kids came into memory and we had
some good laughs. Her mom's service of course was sad and brought up
thoughts of what to do for my mom when that time comes and also what
to plan for myself. Sigh.

It was good to be by the water, I so do miss the sea but that HUGE
lake was refreshing. We took in some museums and the aquarium and ate
good food. The hotel sucked. It's good to be home....
