Thanks Dragonfly for the post and mailart_manekineko for the counter point, and Kevin for the reply(s)...  and once again Bill - It is great to hear your voice again and this thread has been a great end to a long day. 
 
It's been a while since a mailart-value judgment-discussion has taken place.  Always worth the thought I think.  Even given the no judge/no jury aspect - to hear different perspectives is informative, even when we might not agree... 
 
For me the fact that anyone takes the time to put something in an envelope specifically with the intent of making contact at the other end - (I am talking mailart here - not commercial/sales stuff) whether that be a bundle of receipts or an exquisite pencil drawing is an amazing thing. 
 
I am guaranteed a smile on my face and a lift in my heart/soul when I open the mailbox and there is the unmistakable piece of mailart waiting for me - no matter the contents.
