Call for Artists, London Biennale "Pollinations" in Cyprus, Dear Artists-Friends, Warm greetings! I am writing on behalf of Salih Kayra, LBA, Kyrenian poet & film-maker, who is organising the first London Biennale "Pollinations" in Cyprus. Salih Kayra, who showed his film "Cingi" at the "draw_drawing_2" show curated by Giacomo Picca at the Foundry in London, has named the Cyprus LB "Pollinations" : "Amoneyfesta", an ironic reference to the "Manifesta" exhibitions that travel throughout Western Europe and will be held this year in Cyprus. "Amoneyfesta" is open to all artists world-wide. I particularly urge all LBAs to participate in it. Shows will be held in Kyrenia and other parts of Cyprus on August 25, 26 and 27, 2006. Artists of all nationalities and artistic styles are welcome to send art works in any media: drawings, paintings, collages, photographs and mixed media. Art works must be sent to: Salih Kayra, Organiser of "Amoneyfesta", London Biennale "Pollinations" in Cyprus, Zoytin Dali Sokak No. 3, Girne, Cyprus, Mersin 10, TURKEY The following are the conditions for inclusion in "Amoneyfesta": A brief biography of the participating artist with the artist's photograph must accompany the art works. Art works sent to Cyprus will NOT be returned to the artists and will remain in Cyprus for future "Pollinations". The reason for this is logistical: past experience has taught "Pollinations" organisers that so many works of art were sent from all over the world; returning them by post has taken many months, even years, and at considerable expense to the "Pollinations" organisers. Pollinations" have been integral parts of London Biennales. The first "Pollinations" entitled "Rio Trajectorias" took part in 2001 in Rio de Janeiro. "Changing Channels" was the title of the "Pollinations" held in Berlin, organised by Adam Nankervis, who also co-curated with Koan Baysa the "Pollinations" in New York City entitled "Precipitations". This year (2006), Raffaella Losapio organised "Pollinations" at Studio Ra in Rome, with the collaboration of Antonio Sassu (of Gruppo Sinestetico) who is organizing "Pollinations" at Museo Casabianca in Vicenza, Italy. I am happy to participate in "Amoneyfesta", the London Biennale "Pollinations" being organised by Salih Kayra in Cyprus, home of Aphrodite, Goddess of Love & Beauty.
