These are all very good suggestions, especially the one about abbreviations.
I know of a few projects lately that have been trying to reach out more, for example the Alyonka Project was hyped in local media, and Shadow and Evil in Fairytales got a big push from a free web press release that the host put up at some point. Many of the people I see mentioning the downfall of mail art seem to either be missing out on "new" (over 10 years now) web networking options, or making a short sighted comment based on their own flow of new contacts. I've only been doing this since around 1996, but I can say it's at least as strong now as when I started. Then again, I'm not so interested in being a mail art evangelist. I think that public interest can grow organically if the mail artists on the web can start using the internet the way everyone else is, it seems like a lot of us got to about 1998 level web savvy and stopped?? --manekineko http://www.mailart.org --- In [email protected], Tamara Wyndham <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > I'd like to suggest that people who put out mail art > calls, and people who pass on mail art calls, consider > posting the calls not only on mail art lists, but > extend to people outside the mail art network. > > One can post calls on general artists lists.
