I think the question, What makes Art Art will always be asked, it is a valid question and worth contemplation - I agree that art is subjective -   I love it that there is so much to choose from actually - to try to have it fit into someone's notion of what art is or should be is stifling to me.  Even if you are 'only' painting a canvas white - this says something about you and your world view.  If you were to only send blank postcards it would be performance art, and would send your mind wandering perhaps - This might be more profound an act than mailing out hand painted postcards that tell a particular story, or whatever.  I recently was researching Bower Birds on the internet and one of the web sites poses the question of whether their work is art or not.  PBS did a short film comparing their structures to that of artist Andy Goldsworthy whose works are primarily temporary natural constructions.  An interesting problem,  and I conclude that their creations are as much art as any art I have seen.  (maybe not in intention, but certainly from an aesthetic point of view)  Anyway - I love the imagery of your dream.  It might be the fodder for a whole series of works - can you imagine a space just filled with all of these clothes and the visitors have to climb on to them to experience your dream?????  Cool!
