I am looking for work in any medium based around the theme of actor Adel Emam/Adel Imam.The exhibtion will be held in Kuwait.
His roles have displayed a wide range of humor including slapstick, farce, and even the occasional double entendre. His characters tend to be down on their luck rising above powerful outside pressures. This has proved an extremely resilient type in the Arab World. There is a brief website giving some infomation about his history www.adelimam.info/ The reason for choosing him as a theme is because of his popular cultural status in this part of the world. The image should not include any naked form or religious as the censorship is strick- such are the conditions we have to exhibit under. If you have the energy to contribute let me know what you think and I can send more details. The exhibtion will be held in Kuwait late next year, subject to approval from the ministry here. Everything is subject to permission from the necessary people- censorship!! We have to wait for the appropriate stamps and signatures to be granted. I am hoping to extend the exhibtion to a space I have bought in central Prague and all being well I am in touch with a contact at the British Council in Moscow.
