Hello Everyone,
My name is John Chiaromonte. I first got involved with mail art in 1979 when
one of my professors invited me to send in one of my small boxes to a Micro
Gallery show he curated in Sacramento. For a few years I sent and received mail
art from around the world. For a number of reasons I stopped sending art.
Recently I felt the call to start communicating with others artists and felt
that mail art would be a natural way to begin again. The internet has opened
that door to me again... as I have done searches I have seen the names of
artists that I remember for the late 70's and early 80's... I am excited about
the prospect of mailing again and surprising the postman when he delivers my
mail. Thanks to Mike Crane for introducing me to this wonderful expression.
Because of this reintroduction I have talked with some co-workers at the
college where I work and they are interested in having a exhibition at the
college. I am currently working on a couple of projects that I will post later
if I am able to do so on this site.
