I host the 10-day Collaborative Art Journal Project and I'm looking for 10 artists that would be interested in starting a book. The premise of the project is that I send you a journal to keep for 15 days you commit to work in the journal for 10 of those days at least and then send it back to me to be photographed and sent to the next person on my list. I have several people waiting for journals right now, but none that want to work in a brand new, never worked in book.
I admit, starting a book is challenging because you have no frame of reference, plus people seem to really like seeing other peoples work but the book does have to start somewhere, right? Don't be shy if you're not a "book artist". I have had mail artists, writers, musicians, collage specialists, watercolorists, waiters, dog walkers (yes, more than one), 2 science teachers, and a truck driver, work in these journals. Some folks journal, some people paint, some people doodle and they all do "it" for 10 days whatever your "it" is and it's all cool with me as long as you send the book back in 15 days. If you're interested in being the first to work in a book, send me an email ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) with your address and I will mail you a book via media mail. I have about 15 new books waiting, so please respond quickly. Once the new books are all accounted for, I will add names to the all-ready-worked-in list. You can see all the journals on my blog: www.Serendipityart.squarespace.com My goal is to fill 50 books and then exhibit them .although this has been a long process, it has also been a ton of fun! Please get involved! My snail mail address is: Serendipity P.O. Box 3246 Redondo Beach, CA 90277 Lastly, if anyone publishes a zine and would like to swap with me send me one. I will send you my latest printing.
