Dear friend, dear Christine,
according to me, who launches a project of Mail Art he should know that the
first thing that has to do is a good documentation to also show to the other
participants who and as he has participated in the project. Besides to make of
this project an exposure. Be this the circuit that makes to live the Mail Art!
Otherwise that sense has to send works to someone that doesn't make you even
know if he has received her? And the bonds, the friendships that are created in
the world through an art without confinements how they could exist? The Mail
Art is not to pick up around works for the world, the works they are beautiful,
they are messages that they speak to us in direct way, they are emotions, but
the true mail artists knows that the works are only a mean.
If instead one cannot afford to make a documentation or it immediately signal
him in the call or it does activity of Mail Art without launching projects.
My best
Franco

Additionally...In USA many projects are without
documentation. We need to increase the quality of our
Mail Art documentation. As mail artists our numbers
are high in contributions to worldwide calls and our
own. BUT the quantity and quality of OUR
documentations is low, in my opinion. Thank you
FRANCO...as you know my thoughts on the ITALIANS is
very high. Their projects are excellent, with
beautiful catalogues for documentation and great
exhibitions, which all of us certainly love to receive
and prize their contents. I feel we in USA should
return this courtesy to them and others who
continually turn out impressive Mail Art Shows and
  Docs.
