Hello One and All!
I would like to take a moment to introduce myself and invite you to
participate in an exciting mail art project that I am working on. My
name is Jennie Hinchcliff, and together with my friend Carolee Wheeler,
we form the duo known as Pod Post.
<http://www.podpodpost.com/gallery.html> Do you love to hand write
letters? Wait anxiously for new postage stamps to be debuted? Wonder
aloud if your neighborhood postman happens to be a few minutes late with
your mail?
So do we.
You've found your kind of people.
The project: "Good Mail Day" is a DIY book which will be published by
Quarry Books in the fall of 2009. It will discuss mail art in all of its
myriad forms, as well as introducing readers who might not be familiar
with mail art to this wonderful artform. Included in the book will be
ideas to get people involved in the Eternal Network (mail art community)
and how-to projects that are postal and letter writing-centric. Pod Post
is thrilled to have this opportunity to spread the word about an art
form that we have long been passionate about.
That's where you come in! Below is a link which will lead you to the
call-for-entry form; if you would like to submit mail art for the
project, please don't hesitate! We are looking for all types and kinds
of mail art: from the odd to the wonderful: if you can put a stamp on
it, we'd love to see it in our PO box. The project specifics are on the
CFE form, but if there are any additional questions, you are always
welcome to email me, either at this address or the address listed on the
CFE form. This is a great chance to be part of a large project which
encompasses not only friends and family in our own bay area backyard,
but also global letter writers and senders of mail. We hope that you'll
join us!
In all things of a postal persuasion,
Jennie Hinchcliff
