Perhaps the mapping is different in the u.k. Here in the U.S. the sendero
app will tell you the closest address as well as the cross street you are
closest to, this may be the street that is ahead of you or behind you so
you have to use a bit of reason to figure out which one. Also, when using
the navigation part of google maps, the distance to your next turn is
displayed in the notification area. I put these 2 apps to a good test last
week when I traveled a route I had never traveled before and arrived
successfully. Also, using a bluetooth gps receiver seems to improve
accuracy.

Walky Talky only lets you know of your current position when not in
navigation mode. I don't like Sendero either as it gives inaccurate
info. Can anyone recommend an alternative solution?
