I am glad to see this seemingly well researched perspectiv. I do want
to get my foot in the door on the Android platform, but with what look
to be promising perspective for accessibility with icecream sandwich,
I can't help but think it is a better idea to hold back and wait to
see at least what becomes available and what becomes possible for us
and the hardware that will run it. I think that the accessibility is
quite unrefined on Android to say the least compared to the
accessibility on the IPhone and compared to what Android hopefully can
and will be. Jumping in too early could put one at a disadvantage as
described by this post. I know, you can't always judge based on what
may be up coming, but this appears to be a critical moment in time
where that may actually be smarter to do than not to. In what is
currently available, I have my eye on the Motorola droid 3 the most,
based on the fact it seems to be the least messed up by carrier
customizations and Mike's podcasts using the Droid 2 sound quite
promising in terms of its accessibility. I see some google references
to the Droid 4 though and haven't read them as of yet, but that makes
me think they will likely not update even the Droid 3 to Icecream
sandwich, instead wanting to encourage people to buy the Droid 4
instead. Finally, I like seeing this post because bad press on the
IPhone seems to be dug up and held high from everywhere possible and
not many, well balanced perspectives, seem to get much press on
Android.
