The latest app by them seems to be inaccessible with the select button
on my phone. You can navigate just fine but you can't play the tone by
just pressing select or enter. Maybe this still works on a phone that
has dedicated directional controls, like the sidekick, nexus one, or the
like, I wouldn't know.

the last time I used coolsms, I got it to work just fine. here are things
you need to know though, unless things have changed.
one thing to note, and I don't know if this is a requirement, or just
something that helped me out. you might want to make a media folder on the
SD card, and in that folder put a folder called audio, and in that folder
you want to make two folders. they should be called notifications, and
ringtones. now when you save a ringtone from coolsms, or even funny sms, it
will save them in your ringtones folder on the sd card.
ringtones1. none of the sounds will be labeled. if you are using MA, you
will just hear button, button, button, as you are moving around the screen,
this is normal.
2. the sounds are laid out in a grid. there are three sounds across, then
you can go down to the next line, wair there are three more. last I knew, I
think there were 53 sounds, but again, I could be wrong.
3. when you land on a button, you just push select to hear it. for
example, if you have a track ball, and are using that to move around the
grid of sounds, you press on the trackball.
4. when you find a sound you want, you long press the select button, and
you should see a menu of options, I do believe one of them is save as
ringtone.
I hope this has helped you out. one thing I can do, and probibly will do is
make a small podcast on how to do this. coolSMS and funnySMS work in
roughly the same way.

Subject: [MA] Good ap, bad ap.
So I was using the websight where you can find aps that are "accessible" for
the blind and I have good news, bad news and a question. The good news is
that "tunein radio" is ausam! Great and accesible. Now the bad, cool sms
tones, a 5 star rated ap in a word, sucks! I put it on my phone and it is
one of the most unaccessible aps I have worked with unless there is
something I don't know or am not doing. You can't hear the different tones
and the bottens are not labled and nothing really is spoken. I do plan to go
to the sight and say something. Does this happen due to updates in the aps?
Jeff
