Here's a really silly question: When you first take your phone off the charger does the battery report close to 100%?
I had a strange battery problem the other day when, after a night of charging, the battery only showed 35%. It turns out that the little charger was fitting too loosely in the power outlet in my kitchen wall. The minimal weight of the charger was pulling it out of the wall just enough so the charger wasn't really working. I moved the charger to a powerstrip where it fit more securely, and now it charges perfectly.
