You may have to first go to applications and find the voice you chose. click on it. you have to type in your email address and click next. It's ivona's way of keeping track of who is trying the beta voices. You'll actually get an email in your in box of whatever email address you give them. That's the only other thing I can suggest to try.

you have to install the ivona HQ also. That's the foundation. Without that the voices really won't work. I'd try reinstalling them and turn the phone off and on and see if they show up under settings/text to speech/ivona voice settings. It ocurred to me that maybe I can't get Amy UK or the other austrailia, welsh voices to work because my default language is set on english US. I tried to change it under default language but the only option it gives me is english US. so if anyone has any ideas on this please respond. Are any of you using a UK or Austrailia voice with english US as your default language?

So should I install it again and restart my phone? And do I just install the voice?

well i've only gotten kendra to talk to me apparently the others don't like me. smile. I kept going through the install voice data option under text to speech and checking and she wasn't there. then i turned my phone off and on and kendra finally showed up under the ivona voice data option. when i clicked on kendra it worked she became my default voice. of course I'd already checked the ivona HQ option under default speech engions. I like the voice a lot very clear, but like i said she's a little kirt sounding. Even though i'm in the US, the amy voice seemed a little softer. I don't mean in terms of loudness, i mean not as sharp sounding. but i can't get her to speak. i keep clicking on her but it won't switch from kendra now. I can switch back to Grace and SVox voices, but i can't switch ivona voices for some reason.

any ideas how to get my ivona voices working? I had been using kendra, but her voice though clear seems a little harsh so I decided to try UK Amy, nicole or gwen. each say they downloaded successfully and say they are installed, but they don't show up under the ivona settings. well amy finally shows up there, but even though I keep clicking on amy and it says choose the preferred ivona voice and i click on amy it won't change from kendra. And gwen or nicole don't even show up there.

i would also point out this problem to AT&T, being this only happens with their phones.]
maybe AT&T might come up with a fix quicker then CF.

Then you should put in a help desk ticket with CF to make sure it's a formal request that they check it out.

Hey everyone, wondering if Code Factory could look in to this issue, I helped a friend of mine set up their new phone from at&t, it's the samsung captivate glide, which by the way is a very nice phone for blind users, nice keyboard and all 4 of the android function keys have keys on the keyboard, it's also got a nice big screen for those who can read some print. I installed mobile accessibility lite along with talkback for the screen reader. We also installed the Ivona U.S. English voice and I configured mobile accessibility lite to use the system voice, this way only one voice is used throughout the system. Ok, now for the issue, each time the phone is turned on, a message appears but is not spoken indicating that mobile accessibility can only be used by at&t users. Pressing select to dismiss the message, then pressing home allows mobile accessibility lite to work properly. The phone is not in flight mode and the sim card is definitely working since my friend can make and receive calls just fine. This isn't a show stopper, but I thought code factory should be made aware of it._______________________________________________
