Subject: [MA] the samsung ultra phone screens
Hi. I now have the samsung transform ultra which is a very nice phone,
but just FYI, when you are in the call screens, tapping the screen does
not activate the speaker and if the volume keys are set as mine are for
answering calls, they won't work, but the swipe jesture seems pretty
easy and you can still set the power button to end calls so very little
in this phone has been broken these things are all i've really found
and for me at least, are inconvenient but not deal breakers especially
the speaker thing, but i have a headset so that might be how i work
around that one. jusgt lettting everyone know

Hello Ahmed,
To let MA virtual keyboard (VK) work outside MA, you need to do the
following.
1. In Your phone settings (use MA Apps list to get into Phone settings),
go
to Locale and Text and check the option "Mobile Accessibility". Remember
having more than 3 option checked in this window may cause issues so make
sure you have less option checked.
2. After checking the option, go to MA > Settings > Text input > Virtual
Keyboard > Advanced > Select input method. Here use your navigation aid or
sighted assistance to select Mobile Accessibility.
Now outside MA, if you tap on any edit field the Virtual keyboard will
open
automatically.
Also note, outside MA, the virtual keyboard can be started by either
tapping
on an edit field or y long press of the menu key.
To close the virtual keyboard outside, use the phone back key.
Also, to use the voice recognition outside MA, the virtual keyboard must
be
activated.
Lastly, if you disable the option, "Use volume keys to change mode" for
virtual keyboard, you may also use the Shift key long press on VK to
change
layout and long space to change navigation mode from char / word etc.
Hope that helps.

Subject: Re: [MA] MA Onscreen keyboard
Hello All,
Just so you all know, if a phone has htc sense (at least the HTC
status) the onscreen keyboard does not seem to work anywhere outside
MA. If anyone has information about that I would greatly appreciate
it.

that is something i've never tried however i think you may find that
disables the ability to change the way you can read text such as by word

When outside of ma you don't long press volume up to bring up the
keyboard. In the markets case when you click on sirch provided you
have
mobile accessibility set as your input method the keyboard comes up
straight away ready for you to type. The only time you really use
up
volume to bring up the keyboard is inside ma.

No but thanks I have done this now.
However even after doing this I am still not getting any keyboard
coming up.
Again when I return to try an use the Android Market app I am not
making
any progress.
All that happens when I enter the Market app is that I hear search
button
and a list of previous searches that someone sighted was sable to
enter
which are obviously part of a search history. I am getting no
indication
of
an edit field and all that happens when I give a long up press of
the volume
key is that the phone beeps and I lose temporarily all speech
feedback.
.
I must say that so far Android Accessibility even with MA is very
tough and
difficult.
Is there any tutorials on basic use of Android apps using the MA
onscreen
keyboard? I am beginning to think it was a real mistake not
getting
a phone
with a keyboard.

Subject: [MA] MA Onscreen keyboard
I am trying to get to grip grips with my bargain Samsung Galaxy
Europa. A
big problem at the moment is that I can only get the MA Onscreen
keyboard to
work within the mobile Accessibility suite and not outside in,
for
example,
the Android Market.
Is there anything I am doing wrong or is there a setting I need to
use? ?
Should I be using another onscreen keyboard outside of MA
applications? If
so which one?
