That works, only if you are not using the "system call screens".
If you check that option, under "advanced", MA will no longer read caller id.
At least on my phone.

Funny, since several third-party talking caller id programs I've tried read the name/number just fine, no matter what call screen I'm using.

Hello, Edmund:

To get m.a. to read out the caller’s ID. You just have to go to m.a. settings, and click on screen reader, then place a check on speak system notification.

That should work.

Good luck.

I have an Sonny Ericson X10 Pro Phone and I would like to be able to have the phone announce the incoming caller. I know that there are programmes out there that do this but, can M.A. do this on its own? If so, what needs to be checked within M.A.

Also I have installed Jeannie but cannot get it to work. How can I get it to work?

Yours Sincerely

Hey Matt:

You are able to get your phone to read out the caller’s I.D. automatically. You would just have to place a check on a setting with in the m.a. app.

There are a few good talking GPS that works well on the android.

Look-around, blind locater, are just a couple of good ones, I am sure other people will recommend a few more.

when checking out some android phones, try to stay away from the HTC phones. They can be good phones, but too many people have far too many complaints about them, regarding accessibility.

 Good luck.

Subject: [MA] Talking Caller ID

Hello,

I am going to look at android phones this weekend but still have a question about caller id. several people have said that to have the phone say who’s calling, you have to tap the screen to hear it. Is there any way of it doing this automatically. Sometimes I’m not right next to my phone and want to hear who’s calling. Also, does anyone use gps and what program do they use and how well does it work?

Thanks for all the info so far.

Matt
