Rooting your phone is completely unlocking it and gaining full control
over it.
As you will know, when you buy a phone, it is set up so that you do not
have access to the pre-installed apps and carrier branding.
Rooting is quite an involved process and I found it quite nervewracking.
Also, it probably means that you loose any guarantee you may have.
An example of the benefits would be for those that are having problems
with htc sence. All that could be removed and replaced with stock android.
