the virtual keyboard will work just fine. It is the need for physical navigational controls that might require a physical one. If you get a phone with just a physical track pad or trackball, it will work just fine. The only time you might want a physical keyboard is for dialing extensions or selecting options in a telephonic menu tree and even then, on the phones that have them, the physical track balls and pads will help you there as well.
