Pardon my ignorance, but what is the eyes free keyboard?

The only 2.3 out there that I can get without a qwerty just has a track pad.

Should that be all right to enter number during phone calls if I have to use menues using numbers while on a call, or should I request one with a qwerty
too.

Hi Jenny,

Keep in mind you are only using Android 2.1 Ecclaire, and some of the
features, such as voice input, weren't introduced into Mobile
Accessibility
for version 2.1, only 2.2 Froyo and up. If the 2.3 phone has no physical
keyboard then you would use the virtual keyboard. So it is really your
choice what you prefer in the end. I, myself, do prefer a physical
keyboard,
hence why I have the Samsung Transform Ultra from Boost Mobile. It is
right
now running 2.3 4, and I wish it would get an update to ICS, but sadly I
don't think that will happen. Ah well. Hope this helps.

Hi,

I spoke to t-mobile and they could either offer me a Samsung Gravity with
a
qwerty keyboard which is 2.1, or a LG, I forget the name of it, but it
also
had a qwerty keyboard, but it had nothing screen on that slider part and
so
I figured the qwerty would be smaller in size and harder to deal with even
though it was a 2.3.

I hope I made the right decision getting the regular qwerty, but I have
thirty days to decide whether I like it or not.

Also with out a keyboard dialing in a call screen currently is a pain
in the butt using MA's keyboard until this issue is resolved in 2.3 or
Gingerbred. Currently I am using MA's apps to make and manage my
contacts and another app to text because I like text talk better for
texting.

thanks for the info. Maybe when I have the money, they'll have a

Hi all,

I have a choice between the phone with the qwerty keyboard which is
running
2.1, or a My Touch 4 which runs 2.3. It only has a track pad on it.

my only concern is that with the My Touch, you wouldn't be able to input
numbers if asked to in phone menus when you call a business. Can you do
that with the track pad, or are you pretty much up a creek if you don't
have
a qwerty.

I know I'm asking a lot of questions, but I don't want to be stuck with a
phone I hate, like the qwerty because I'm not good at those. However, I
don't want to get a phone with a track pad and virtual key pad, which I'm
good at, but not be able to access menues during phone calls.

thanks in advance for your patience.

Jenny

well, i wouldn't recommend the 2.1, i have a 2.1 device and most of
the software is now being written for 2.2 and above leaving 2.1
behind. the device i have was supposed to receive a second update
when i purchased, but shortly after the purchase motorola and
t-mobile decided that it wouldn't update the device leaving me with a
device that will soon not be supported by most of the software on the
market.

with MA, you should be able to use the touch screen and the numeric
keyboard to enter numbers i believe. haven't tried this, but will see
if i can do it with MA under android v2.1.
