that is an okay phone hardware wise, the my touch 4GQ from LG, one thing
you will be glad is your not going to have to deal with is the HTC sense
UI.

OK, this is a pain to do, but if the function key doesn't work, try it
in the ma dialer, then in the phone's dialer try the folowing, with
the keyboard closed, arrow up until you hear something labeled, down
once, right two and down three. You should be on the pound. press
that. now play around around until you learn the default button, but
you should be able to tell by the tones. another thing to try is to
use your keyboard and try to find it after entering a number, any
number. (note: with the keyboard open the screen rotates a quarter turn
counter clockwise).
Also, you may have to arrow right once before going up and with open
up once before arrowing left.) It is complicated, I know, but I think
you can get it. good luck. After some practice, you will get it and
you will know how to quickly get there.
I guess the problem hasn't been fixed. One more thing to try, many
phones have the pound key on the d or f key. Try pressing fn or alt
and then d or F while in a number box and see if that doesn't produce
the desired effect. maybe you can also assign one of the couple of
functions to similate the key press to.

Okay, tried both using the alt key and trying to use the keyboard on
the screen. Neither works. I get nothing when I use the alt key and
I get some sort of list that isn't fully read by ma on the sidekicks
screen.

No, it's next to the left shift key on the Sidekick. The sequence on
the bottom row is left shift, alt, at sign, comma, space bar, period,
question mark, the voice key, and the right shift key. The
Sidekick's keyboard isn't quite layed out like a PC keyboard, and
this row is a fine example of that fact.

Well, I tried to get the side kick, but they don't stock it anymore.
So, I had to get the LG my touch Q.
I suppose that will be accessible enough cause it has a qwerty keyboard.
If anyone has one, can you describe how you move around the screen
since I'm not sure if it has a directional pad, or arrows on the qwerty?
If no one has it, I guess I'll just have to be the pioneer and hope it
works out.
