Did you turn on braille terminal on the apex?? It is on the main menu. You can 
press t from the main menu then press b to connect using bluetooth.

If you are going to get a new phone from sprint that is not a QWERTY the evo 4g 
LTE is the best / most advanced phone on sprint at the moment.
