it actually will work on any phone that has this feature, with one
exception. Those phones that have broken accessibility, where it does
work or at least some slight variation of this, if it isn't accessible
you won't be able to see it. Ringo pro or whoisit will do all that and
more and is probably a better bet since you can assign certain things
like tones for text message or even individual email contacts too, I
think, at least sms messages.

It has been a while since I did this, but go to apps, contacts, using track
down to the contact you want, press and hold select until a menu comes up.
choose edit. Now this is where I am trying to remember. I think now you
tap the menu button and scroll to assign ringtone. You may have to expand
more on the menu item to find this. If that doesn't work, explore your
screen looking for the same information. I think the first option is
correct though.
