I still say using UpSoundDown is the easiest way to get speaker phone working. Takes a bit of configuring, but once it's done, you don't have to wonder how to get so speaker phone any more. I'm using proximity, so if I move the phone away from my ear, the speaker phone activates. If I want to deactivate it, I just move it closer to my ear again.
