you would have to go to settings... voice input, and output, and then go to
update the voice data. you should be ok, after that.
I use IVONA Text-to-Speech HQ, and that app works great with it, and I also
install a couple of voice that would work with various languages.

Greetings folks.
I am using the new MA on ICS with a Sony XPeria 10 Pro. I want to use a
different voice other than Samantha. I have SVOX Grace and Victoria. I
have tried to set the SVOX voices as the default voice for all apps. I
can set Grace to be the voice, change MA to use the system voice and it
seems fine. However, I keep loosing speech. It's as if Android forgets
about the speech.
If I go back to Samantha, everything is fine. MA seems to lose speech if
you use something other than Samantha. Has anyone else encountered this
on their phones?
