It seems like your screen is timing out quickly. Go to your phone settings, and click on display settings and change the screen time out settings. It might be set to 30 seconds or less… change it to at least 2minutes, and the screen would not lock up on you. If you have a keyboard time out setting, as well, make sure to change it to the same as display settings. HTH. Good luck.
