The @gmail.com does need to be included.

in MA, go to the email app, tap menu, and in email, put in your gmail
account, your name. I can't remember if @gmail.com needs to be there or
not, try it both ways. then go to password and enter it. That's it
unless you want to tweak some additional settings.
