I decided to place this post here and hope as well that people from Code
Factory will have a look.
An Icelandic speech recognition has been launched by Google some time
ago. It works well as a search tool with Google Search. Some work still
needs to be done in order to make it fit as a writing tool for emails
and SMS.
The google engine together with the virtual keyboard needs to be set up
outside Talkback, so sighted assistance will be needed. When configuring
the keybord, i.e. the Samsung keyboard, in order to activate the speech
engine together with the keyboard, it is not possible to use the
MA-keyboard any more with SMS. Actually MA freezes when SMS is selected.
But MA as a screen reader with Talkback is well functioning.
An other thing with the MA keyboard: When moving fingers around to find
the character to be typed, it is sometimes as the characters are moving
around and it seems to be difficult to find the one you are looking for.
Are there anyones having this experience?
