Hi Arnthor
Do you mean how to set up the home screens outisde of MA? If so I use an
alternative launcher app called Nova launcher. It's quite easy for me to
use as I have a little bit of residual vision. I can double tap on the
icons and then slide them into the positions I want. Initially, when I
was new to android and MA, I just used the list of apps within MA but as
I got more apps the list got longer and harder to deal with. Outside of
MA in android I use the different home screens for different things, so
my screen 5 contains the apps that replicate the MA functions and MA
itself if I need it, screen 2 cotnains audio apps such as music players
and Tune In, Screen 4 contains navigation apps, so I know where I am and
so on. It's a bit easier to use all the apps if they are organised. This
is again sadly something that Code Factory could have done.
Hope this helps
Cheers

This is quite interesting, Paul. I need to find out how to set
shortkeys to the different screens, mainly the home screen.
Congratulations.

The Nexus 4 is great, my only slight criticism is that the screen and
therefore the phone is a little larger than suits me but hey I'm in
the minority.
I've used MA and mobile speak before that for a long time but sadly
I@m tearing myself slowly away. What I've done is tried to build a
replica of all the features, one by one, on one of my home screens.
This is in the order they appear in MA, so I have an icon for
contact, phone, sms etc. I use the best app I can find for each
function so for example an accessible contact manager developed by
the European Commission. So piece by piece I'm replicated the
familiar MA functions with accessible alternatives. I am not happy
about needing to do this and really wish that code factory could have
kept up with the pace but I'm coping more and more without.
Hope this helps

I have just ordered the nexus 4 and will use mobile accessibility
since I will use mobile accessibility where I know that talkback
has limitation and then vise versa.
Is there some blog post or other information that documents where TB
is better than MA and vise versa? I've installed a demo of MA on my
new Samsung Galaxy S4, and honestly, I find it cumbersome to use two
screen
readers.
Thanks and regards,

Subject: [MA] phone Suggestions, Please
Hello,
I am desperately seeking suggestions, for a new phone! I am
currently using an Android phone, the Samsung Sidekick 4G, with
TMobile, as my provider.
After 20 months, I think the phone has finally had it.
I did not damage it, drop it in water, etc., but my insurance
coverage will allow me to replace the phone, but at a cost of
$150. I don't think so!
When I asked what compreble models they may have, with a Qwerty
keyboard, a representative informed me that Most companies are
pretty much phasing out those phones.
More and more Androids are completely touch screen phones.
Does anyone know of other Androids recently released that may suit
my needs? I just need to be able to text and hear texts.
I really don't want an Iphone, but it seems that more and more
blind people are using them.
Does anyone know whether the Blackbury q10 works for us or has speech?
Thanks.
Claudia
