What you need to do is the following:
First after deleting the contacts, that you don’t want… go to:
The phone contacts list, and then hit your menu button, then click on
import/export, it would give you a choice of the two, and you would click on
export to SD.card. And that would back up your contacts on to your sd/card,
and Google account. This would help you so when you get any new phones you
would get the contacts that you saved.
Note, whenever you add any new contacts… make sure to follow the steps
previously mentioned that way you will always keep your contact list up to
date.

hi! I recently got a new phone, and my old phone's SD card (or maybe SIM
card) has contacts in it. I have gone into the MA > contacts module,
deleted the old contacts that I don't want. Any time I re-start the phone,
these contacts reappear. This is the 3rd or 4th time I have deleted
duplicate contacts or old numbers and then had them reappear. How can I save
the MA contacts as is so I don't have to do this again. I'm using ICS.
