when you using m.a. solely, click on the m.a. settings, and alert sounds,
and put on silence. and that would shut it off.
if you are using talkback with m.a. then click on the messaging settings,
hit your menu button, and under alert sounds, put it on no sound, you would
do this for the email settings as well, under the email app.
