You will habe been aware today that I have requested to be removed from this group and that decision remains. I am subscribed to many groups and frankly have never experienced the content management that has been undergoing on this group. Yur personal situation should be kept seperate from this group and I would expect a higher lebel of professionalism. Please have me removed from this group immediately and I would strongly suggest you reconsider and adopt am appraoch more appropriate.

Hello everybody

This is one of those messages I wish I never had had to write. But this needs to be reaffirmed so I'd best get it over with now.

The list policy document located at <http://www.tft-bbs.co.uk/mac-access-welcome.html> makes it very clear that flaming won't be tolerated on this list. Recently, because I haven't wanted to take any action against anybody, things have been slipping and there has been a bit of flaming on this list.

That, as of now, is a situation which will be rectified. As per her request, for instance, Linda Mumford has been removed from this group. Frankly she was nothing but trouble from the day she joined; and I shouldn't have tolerated it for as long as I did. However, she is the first member I have had to remove because of unacceptable behaviour. I went out of my way, on and off list, to be courteous and polite to that lady; so I really don't know where she gets her views of what constitutes "Rude" from. However, she's gone now and hopefully she might eventually see the error of her ways.

OK, so she's history; but we have to think of the future of the group. Gordon and I are currently having to deal with a very difficult personal situation whereby 2 members of our joint family are being treated for cancer. Those situations are obviously at the forefront of our minds; and we are devoting most of our time towards aiding their recovery.

Earlier this week we came very close to announcing the closure of this group, owing to the persistent trouble-causing which has gone on here recently. But we opted not to do that because it would be to the detriment of the very large majority of members who have behaved absolutely impeccably and totally in the spirit of the group's aims. However, from this point on, we will be enforcing the rules to the letter with regards flaming. Any member who does it will be moderated and, if necessary, removed; end of story. I sincerely hope it won't be necessary.

Gordon and I totally acknowledge that we aren't above making mistakes; and we've made a few recently. We too need to take more care in how we say what we say, and that we will do. But those who are determined, like Linda, to twist what others say to suit their own purposes won't be pacified in future; I will simply do what's necessary for the good of the group. As Leonard Nimoy (alias Mr. Spock) so famously said, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few; or the one". That is how it will be.

Lynne
