Across the Mac, using VO T will give you font information.

Again this is not just a command for Beam but will work across the Mac.. Having 
said that I have just tried it in this mail message and although Voiceover 
announced centred when I did it VO T in this instance just gives the font 
information so it may not had worked.

I have never used styles with a word processor so I am afraid somebody else wil 
have to help you with this.
