Hi Jim, I just read a Macworld article posted two days ago about a program called IMCapture that can record Skype calls on your Mac, but I don't know whether it's accessible or how it works. There's a link to a trial download given in the article, though, so you can read through for yourself. Use Safari reader (Command-Shift-R) after you go to the URL. • "Record your conversations with IMCapture for Skype" July 13, 2011 Macworld: http://www.macworld.com/article/161106/2011/07/imcapture_skype.html
I think that many people use Audio Hijack Pro, but in light of some posts that I've read by some people who have traced recent increases in VoiceOver crashing to having some Audio Hijack components installed, I'm not sure whether I can recommend that for recording Skype calls. This appears to date from a recent Snow Leopard update. Some list members may recall that three years ago (before the list archives) Gordon posted that his ability to ssh into other machines had vanished, and that turned out to be due to Instant Hijack interfering with the new security updates in the the software updater. (The fix was to wait for Rogue Amoeba to supply new versions of the Instant Hijack that were compatible with the security update.) I have no idea whether there really is a connection between having any of the Audio Hijack Pro components installed and increased VoiceOver crashing recently, but it seemed prudent to mention the possibility. At the present, this is simply repeating anecdotal accounts that I can't substantiate.
